This splendid sailboat, with a remarkable design, is today the natural link between the First 36 and 53. It cultivates performance, elegance and comfort, in particular thanks to the quality of the equipment which offers unparalleled sailing pleasure.
With the First 44, BENETEAU has achieved what is most noble in the expression race-cruise: a sailboat whose seaworthiness provides happiness under sail without ever renouncing comfort and elegance. The generous sail plan allows the First 44 to be lively and efficient in all conditions.
The First 44 offers 2 programs, FIRST 44 and FIRST 44 PERFORMANCE, with a different deck plan, and 2 choices of keels and masts.
In the FIRST 44 version, the cockpit stands out for its conviviality with a beautiful exterior table as well as for its fluidity with level access to the wide open gangways.
4 winches and a fixed mainsheet point, as well as the aft mast, make it possible to take advantage of the modern sail plan composed of a slender mainsail and generous headsails.
2 ballasts of 300 liters, electrically activated from the helm consoles, offer the possibility of keeping the full potential of the boat even with a reduced crew.
In the FIRST 44 Performance version, the ergonomics of the deck plan have been studied for racing with a crew. The equipment is clearly racing-style, with in particular the anti-slip foam which replaces the teak at the bottom of the cockpit, the 6 winches and the mainsail sheet track. In terms of rigging and fittings, a 1.50 m carbon bowsprit, a hydraulic backstay, a powerful retractor system, as well as a performance mast and keel are on the program for this version which will satisfy the most demanding crews.
The First 44 benefits from a bright, modern and uncluttered layout, combining white lacquer, molded wood and neat upholstery. Composed of three cabins and two bathrooms, the interior relies on the quality of the finishes and materials to create a refined atmosphere. In the saloon, the transverse table can accommodate up to six people and faces the sofa and the navigation station, its arrangement in relation to the mast facilitates circulation between the galley and the owner’s cabin, which accentuates the feeling of space .
The First 44 has been designed with 2 deck plans to satisfy the various expectations of its owners: FIRST 44 and FIRST 44 PERFORMANCE.
The First 44 combines elegance and modernity by combining white lacquered furniture and molded wood, judiciously positioned indirect lighting and a wide range of upholstery.
The First 44 benefits from BENETEAU know-how and the attention of the best experts. More in demand by their owners, the Firsts are the subject of very advanced development; the engineering was therefore entrusted to the Mer Forte design office, well known in offshore racing, and which had played the same role for the Figaro Bénéteau 3.
