As stylish in regattas as in fast cruising, the First 24 offers an unbeatable compromise in the category of performance, transportable and habitable yachts. Ideal for running at four, it welcomes six people on a coastal cruise and can board eight for day trips.
Powerful and racy, the First 24 designed by Sam Manuard sports a hull with sharp braces resolutely modern. Most of the maneuvers arrive at the piano located on the descent and two winches associated with blockers facilitate all adjustments. Particularly efficient in light weather and medium, the First 24 evolves easily and serenely at 15 knots.
Accessible by two panels, the large bunker integrated at the bottom of the cockpit accommodates the fenders and a small engine heat or electric.
Underneath the deck, the First 24’s expansive interior features a large double berth on the bow and single berths on either side of the keel pit. A clever system of cushions makes it possible to gather the two single berths in a double-seater mattress. Transportable in a bag, the table can be installed inside or in the cockpit and arrives to lighten the boat in regatta. A kitchenette stove / cooler, chemical toilets and an electric pack coupled with solar panels make the boat autonomous.
WINNING ON ALL FRONTS
Very simple to maneuver and close to the dinghy in the bar sensations, the First 24 moves at great speed under all gaits. Sporty but docile, he performs regatta while remaining safe and comfortable in coastal and family cruising. Its pivoting and fully liftable keel makes it a transportable sailboat, easy to launch and accessible to shallow moorings.
Combined with its light weight (960 kg), the retractable keel of the First 24 allows the transport in the back of a car and an easy launch from a simple hold. With its matting kit, the boat is ready to sail in less than two hours.
For family crews, the First 24 can be equipped with high dies (45 cm) and a front balcony. With its front triangle filled with foam, it is otherwise unsinkable.
APPENDIX AND RIGGING
The 1.90 m keel in a low position and the carbon rig make the First 24 perfectly manageable in a small crew or solo.
Simplifying boarding and stowage on board, four canvas bags are used as both kits and travel bags.
